Had to replace ignition 2 times because the key would not turn all the way to remove it. It didn't fix the problem because I still had a difficult time with it and now I've noticed gold dust on the little shelf right under ignition.

I began having problems turning the ignition key switch on when I first purchased this vehicle, brand new with 10 miles on it. I told the dealership about the problem and they kept the vehicle overnight. They claimed that they could not "duplicate the problem, so they were not able to diagnose it" and returned the vehicle. I explained to them that the problem was intermittent and that my wife and daughter refused to drive the vehicle because they had experienced problems with it, not being able to turn the ignition on, until after several minutes and attempts, sometimes triggering the Security lock-out! After the system locked me out and fighting with the Dealership, I had the ignition switch changed out at 80,000 miles. The Dealer told me that "they would take care of it", but instead handed me a repair bill of over $350.00! Well, now the vehicle is approaching 125000 miles and guess what?!? The damned "newly replaced" ignition is beginning to show the same symptoms as its processor! This means another $350+ repair bill for a replacement which only lasts for 45,000 miles???? I have already smartened-up and traded-in by last 2 GM cars for Hondas, which me and my wife love very much! I think it's time to do the same with this GM, as well! I used to be a "Hard-core GM Enthusiast", taunting their "Great Vehicles" for the last 30+ years, but no more!!!!!! Remember GM mow stands for "Government Motors" They just found another why to take your money, using Government bailouts, because they build junk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ignition has been having trouble for a few weeks. Dealership says it's not covered. It finally gave out during our trip to the airport leaving us screwed and had to abandon it for a week. Can't turn the ignition, have to have the switch, key, replaced and computer programmed for the key.
