Engine Stalls When Driving

CarComplaints.com Seal Of Avoid Like The Plague

CarComplaints.com Notes: When it comes to the 2006 Ion, the biggest questions are: what big problem is going to pop up next? And how long until GM chooses to address it?

The 2006 Ion has a defective ignition switch that gave owners fits. Their keys would get stuck in the ignition, the engine wouldn’t shut off or in some cases it would shut off at the most dangerous time. The ignition was eventually recalled as part of one of the largest recalls of all-time , but it took GM 10 years to do it. Then there’s this car’s temperamental power steering which is prone to stop working randomly while driving. It too was eventually recalled, even if GM took their sweet time about it.

Lastly, it turns out a car built with plastic doors, fenders and bumpers – while fun for a game of “shopping cart bocce” – is horrible for safety.

I own a 2006 Saturn Ion....I've had so many problems with this car. Power steering, key getting stuck in the ignition, window in back does not go down to the fuel line & now car is shutting off on me for no apparent reason....I've read other complaints & every single problem I'm having there having. I know the fuel line was a recall, yaaay got that fixed for free! But everything else is a freakin problem, I hate GM cars & i hate SATURNS!!!!! None of these problem are recalls & everyone is having the same problem, whatsup!!!!! My car is only 6 years old!!!!

I got the power steering fixed finally, which that was a pain & money....it seemed like i was out of power steering fluid, very very hard to turn but then was told that my Saturn does not take fluid its an electrical problem. My key.....omg, it gets stuck in my ignition & i gotta sit there for hours trying get it out or my battery will die. Window? Didn't take it in cause my warranty was out so just dealt with it. Fuel? My car smelt like gas for weeks finally took it in & was expecting to pay an arm & a leg & they told me it was a recall..about time! Stalling on the freeway....where do i begin, my car just dies & then starts right back up again & its happening very frequently & its not the battery, my mechanic said its a electrical problem...wth!!! Problems after problems!
