Push Pin Broke And Broke A 3 Inch Hole Into Block

CarComplaints.com Seal Of Avoid Like The Plague

CarComplaints.com Notes: When it comes to the 2006 Ion, the biggest questions are: what big problem is going to pop up next? And how long until GM chooses to address it?

The 2006 Ion has a defective ignition switch that gave owners fits. Their keys would get stuck in the ignition, the engine wouldn’t shut off or in some cases it would shut off at the most dangerous time. The ignition was eventually recalled as part of one of the largest recalls of all-time , but it took GM 10 years to do it. Then there’s this car’s temperamental power steering which is prone to stop working randomly while driving. It too was eventually recalled, even if GM took their sweet time about it.

Lastly, it turns out a car built with plastic doors, fenders and bumpers – while fun for a game of “shopping cart bocce” – is horrible for safety.

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

While traveling at 75mph on I-35 South bound in Edmond Oklahoma, went to change lanes and suddenly there was a loud boom, lost control and started to skid, fire ignited while doing 2 - 360 deg turns, went side ways again, slid sideways towards concrete barrier between N-S bound lanes - then was shot backwards while still in forward motion, went sides ways again, stopped sideways (3/4 slant) facing oncoming traffic - fire went out - had to push car to side of the road. Only thing that kept us from rolling the car was the fact ALL MY OIL was sprayed all over the underneath of my car on on my wheels -

Tow / Mechanic looked when he came to tow back and found a 3-4 inch hole in the block where the push pin had failed and knocked the hole - car is not worth fixing -

No warning lights came on, no knocking noise was made.. Just suddenly the engine blew and we were thrown into a tail spin from 2nd street merge to the 15th street exit.

We ALMOST DIED - Investigation and recall need to be made before someone dies.

Any time a recall has been made I have NOT received any notifications - I will NEVER buy a Saturn or GM product again.
