I've noticed my Crosstrek has an odd shudder with the CVT when it is hot out.

- Anything 90 degrees F and above. Luckily I don't live in a hot climate so it shouldn't be a huge problem as long as it doesn't get worse.

From a stop, the CVT seems to try to jump to a higher gear than it should. The car quickly realizes it doesn't have the power required and pulls the power away. The result is a full second or so before the CVT and the engine start working together again.

At stop lights, you look like you're sleeping, but I could see where it would pull you into an intersection and decide it was going to take a break for a second. If you aren't ready for the lag it will be scary.

As soon as the temperature dropped back into the lower 80s the problem seems to have become less noticeable. This car is my third Subaru and second one with a CVT. This problem is different than anything I've experienced before. There is no check engine light so the local dealer probably won't even look at it.
