About our UFO Car (2021 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid)
The Pedestrian Alert System is driving us, the people and the cars around us, nuts! It’s at least 10x louder than any other electric car’s similar systems.
The car needs a software update to lower the super loud volume on the PDA system. This has been an issue from the beginning, but now it’s THE issue.
The Dealer said they lowered the volume, but they didn't. It sounds like an ambulance coming down the street and it can easily be heard from 500'. There are so few of these on the road that no one knows what to do about it.
Apparently there's a speaker that's simply the UFO noise maker in the front grill area, but I am not an auto techie and can't find it, but a software fix would be best. It needs to be lowered by at least 10dB (10% of current volume).
