The clutch pedal malfunction, The Subaru dealer here in Vancouver WA , Dick Hannah agreed that this was a warranty issue. Citing the fact the the title is branded opted out of repairing it. A $ 2600 call back. Next option was a Shop up the street that had some success at it. Fixing it their way. The Clutch Doctor.

I drop it off there for an estimate of $600.00 The mechanic suggested he order a new brake, bracket assembly to which has been completely reconfigured to work properly. --From Subaru

Subaru dealer refused to sell him the proper parts. Now it is a $1200.00 repair, and is not completely fail safe. As the mechanic has no choice but to try to weld the firewall.

It appears to me an engineering failure for the clutch, brake fulcrum and pivots. I am not sure if Subaru recognizes the extent of the problem and the safety issue not to mention premature clutch wearing out. This problem increases and is exacerbated once a proper clutch and pressure plate are replaced costing us another $ 1200.00
