The real problem is poor quality wiring. The wires seem very brittle and break at this flex point. To access the wiring cord you must remove several pieces of interior trim (risk of damage is possible) and the part is not under warranty. The only other solution is to butt splice the wires or remove the access panel to access the door latch manual lock switch.
