brakes problem
Subaru recalled 2001 to 2009 Outback for corroded brake lines. Then recalled Forrester starting in 2010. The brake lines are so corroded they need to be totally replaced...at like 2000. They have to take half the car apart to do it. The car had no brakes while driving. Had to have it towed. Filing another compliant since this has happened a second time since this May occurrence. Its now less than a month later.

While adjusting my seat and leveraging off of the brake, one of the brake lines burst and I lost brakes on the left front and rear right tires. Made the car almost un-driveable and caused the remaining tires to squeal frequently. The dealer quoted me $3,284 to fix. A certified mechanic network quoted me less than $800 to replace the lines, they even offered to patch it for less. After the fix it never worked the same. After a cold start the front right tire would brake first and then all the others. The issue was due to 6 years of corrosion after driving in the north east, for a Subaru more protection should have been added.

Second time in a month car has had no brakes and brake light came on. Severely corroded brake lines.. Second break in a month. Extremely dangerous to have a car that has no brakes while driving. Had to be towed.
