Outback Limited 3.6L

While driving for Lyft at 7:30 AM the Outback overheated. I had the car towed to my mechanic. After his inspection he informs me that the radiator was cracked and that my car had coolant in my oil and oil in my coolant. Because of the design, apparently there is an oil line that runs through the radiator to cool the oil... It cracked. I had to get a new radiator, have everything flushed out with soap.

Outback Limited 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 92,000 miles

On the drive from LA, CA to Montana I was outside of Los Vegas going up in elevation when the car started to overheat. The temperature outside was bout 95 degrees. Before the car overheated the internal temperature of the Outback was about the same. I exited near the crest and waited for the car to cool down. I added water and coolant and proceeded. For the remainder off the trip every time I went up an incline or drove the car above 65 mph the temperature light would come on. The A/C didn't work for the remainder of the trip.

Bought this car used, drove 800 miles and then car's air conditioning stopped, and car over-heated causing further engine damage. No service lights until it was too late!
