Consumer stated that he was denied the tire recall benefit because the vehicle was different than those listed in the recall. (Firestone wilderness tire)
PE 00 020/tire tread separation: While washing the vehicle notice all the tires were warpping. Notified Firestone, and informed consumer that tire was not recallsed. Original equipment, tire size P265/75R15, dot# unavailable. Firestone, Wilderness AT. Please feel free to provide any further details:
P265/75R15 size, original equipment on 1999, Toyota, Tacoma. Tread on the left rear tire separated. The outer tread separated. The Firestone dealer indicated that the tires are backlogged but the driver replaced the damaged tire with the spare one.
PE-00-020; orginal equipment on a Toyota, Tacoma 1999, tire size P215/70R14, 14 inch tires, and dot number W2hyawa248. When driving consumer heard a noise coming from front end. Contacted a dealer, dealer noticed front two tires were experiencing unusual wear. Vehicle was not out of alignment, tires were rotated every so offten. Tires only had 18 thousand miles on them. The customer replaced the two front tires.
PE00020; tire tread separation: Owner is able to see rubber breakdown between tread and excess of rubber where the tread hooks to the cap on all four tires. The tires are Firestone, wilderness, at, P26575R15, original equipment. When contacting the dealership, owner was told to go to Firestone.
