"takata recall" recently while I was driving on the highway, I slowed down to stop at a stop light but when the light turned green I proceeded to drive and my car was stalling and almost got hit from behind by an 18 wheeler. Now im afraid to drive my own car something needs to be done about this.

The contact owns a 2010 Volkswagen Cc. While driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle dropped into a lower gear without warning. The vehicle was taken to mcminnville Volkswagen (1920 or-99W, mcminnville, or 97128, (503) 472-4658) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

A heavy jerk and bag when the transmission shifts between 1st-3rd gears. Transmission disengages while moving but particularly in stop and go traffic. Vehicle needs to be completely shut down and restarted in order for the transmission to become fully operational again. There is also a hesitation or time lag when shifting from park to reverse before the transmission engages. The vehicle has an automatic dsg transmission. I am not the only owner of a 2010 Cc that has been experiencing this problem. I contacted the vehicle manufacturer and I was told that the company's position was to do nothing. This vehicle has 2-3 other recalls on it as well. This is a mechanic issue that can occur at any moment and possess potential hazards when in motion in any driving condition (highway or street). I was told by dealership repair center that the car requires a brand new transmission costing upwards of $5,000. As stated this is a manufacturing issue and research indicates that many other owners of this type of vehicle have had the same mechanical issue with the end result of having to replace the transmission. You ask when this happened, however, it is not a particular date but continuous.

Dsg transmission malfunction: Transmission fails to shift from 1st to neutral and from neutral to 1st, also cars slips out of gear only in 1st gear when starting from stop, seems transmission retaining spring for odd gears clutch pack is not made to withstand the the higher psi generated when starting from a stop. P2711 generated for all problems only but 2 different problems are occuring.

Car has repeatedly had issues shifting into the proper gear. When attempting to shift into reverse, a loud clunking can be heard and the car suddenly switches to neutral without being able to engage any gears thereafter without the car first being restarted entirely. After researching and reaching out to VW of America, it seems many other owners of vws with the same transmission have had similar issues, some of which have been recalled previously by VW, including 2010 VW Ccs similar to mine. VW of american has failed to see my car should fall within the parameters of the already issued recall and has advised me to file a report here. I am concerned this issue will potentially cause a failure at highway speeds and could be life threatening. Thank you.

Dsg transmission: The car has been "slipping" while driving, will slip into neutral and fail on the highway. When stationary, sometimes won't go in reverse, just flashes R, when I put it in reverse. Can turn it off, turn it back on and it'll run ok. VW has extended warranty on 2010 dsg, but is not covering my VIN.

The contact owns a 2010 Volkswagen Cc. While the vehicle was idling at a traffic light, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the contact stated that the rpms increased to 3,500; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact stated that the gear shifter felt as if the vehicle shifted into sport mode. The drive icon illuminated. While attempting to depress the accelerator pedal again, the engine revved, but the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact had to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to mckinney Volkswagen dealer at (855) 402-5098 located at 3600 S central expy, mckinney, tx 75070 where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced; however, the dealer stated that the engine could not be taken apart. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced; however, the mechatronic control module was replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was provided a case number. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

The engine light is on in my vehicle and I found out there is an unexpected mechanical gear disengagement (trouble code P2711). The dealership quoted $2,400 suggesting me to replace clutch packs, after I spent $140 simply for diagnosis. I saw that VW used to provide a safety recall and extended warranty for dsg transmission for certain models in 2007 to 2010. I also found online that there are many reported dsg-related failures. I, just as many VW owners do, have experienced delays at shift points, causing erratic shifting, jerking, long stall pauses, clutch slipping, surging in forward and reverse, etc. While the car is either accelerating, passing or cruising. However, my 2010 VW Cc (55K mileage) is not under this extended warranty. I think it's very ridiculous, since I've taken good care of my vehicle, but have already experienced 3 safety recall (including takata recall and fuel pump recall), and this time they refuse to reimburse my costs incurred by their commonly-known dangerous transmission failure. I'm already hugely influenced by this model's safety recalls, and don't want to pay $2400 for their design defects. Even if I repair it at my own expense, it's hard to say such a bad transmission will not cause other danger or trouble in the future. If this is the same dsg transmission that's reported to be troublesome, their warranty/recall should be fairly provided to all influenced vehicles. Thank you for your time!

After coming to a stop, when foot is removed from the brake, the car dangerously lurches forward, sometimes several times before normal driving can continue. This problem was documented by VW and they extended the warranty/fix up to 10 years/100,000 for some vehicles (appears manufactured up to 2009?). they would not cover this vehicle under the special extended warranty.

The car will jerk at low gears. The transmission will jam when going from 'drive' to any other gear. When transmission jams, car acts like if it was in neutral, the "D" for drive starts flashing on the dashboard and the car wont move. The transmission will sometimes jam on first gear and wont shift up or down. I must turn off and on the car for the transmission to start working again. The issues always happen at low speeds or when going from drive to reverse.

I would never recommend someone to purchase a Cc or Volkswagen car equipped with a dsg transmission. The car will not engage park, reverse, or neutral, and when in drive it sometimes disengages into neutral leaving you to pull over and place the car in park to restart and reengage drive. Also doesn't downshift smoothly whatsoever. Pretty much my 2010 Cc is great at sometimes going forwards, not parking or reversing....

I purchased this vehicle as a certified pre-owned in 4/2013 at which time it had 44423 miles on it. I have had all required maintenance, recalls and repairs performed at the dealership that I purchased from. Now after 3.5 years of owning the vehicle and only putting 31,577 miles on it, the car wouldn't engage when trying to park. When parallel parking, I put the car in reverse and it makes a noise like it is trying to go into reverse and if it won't engage the "R" starts flashing and the check engine light comes on. I have to place the vehicle in park (the "P" will then flash) and turn it off and turn it on and then it will work. Usually after driving the car 3 times or so the check engine light turns off and clears, but then a day or so later the same thing happens. This happened least 3 times a week. I took it to the dealership and repair performed to correct complaints was (1) replacement of the dual clutch pack which required the removal and re-install of my transmission which cost me $2,600. I believe the dsg transmission is faulty. Now after the car has been repaired, I am still having problems with the transmission jerking while going from 2nd to 3rd gear while driving on the freeway. I have owned 3 previous Volkswagen and customer care was one of the reasons that brought me back to these cars. Unfortunately, customer care is pretty much non-existent now. I am really disappointed. Also, I have had the clock spring malfunction 3 times, which is 1 of the 2 recalls for this vehicle. This issue with the transmission needs to be investigated.

While driving from a stand still at a traffic light, the transmission (auto dsg) failed to change to second gear but rather disengaged prematurely causing loss of movement. This occurred at an intersection and almost caused an accident. Depressing the accelerator only caused the engine to rev up but no movement (as if the transmission was in neutral). Only way to recover was to put on hazards lights, place transmission in park, switched off the car, switched on after 30 seconds and drive away.

On the highway I was changing lanes to get off to an exit and my car loss power. It was the scariest thing ever as I had no control over the car anymore other than steering. Fortunately there wasn't that heavy of traffic so I pulled over and turned the car off then on and the flashing D that was on my screen had steadied and I was able to drive home. Only to have the same thing happen again the very next day.

Dsg transmission problems, I had the car for about 1 year and a half and suddenly after a long day of driving the car when I would get home to park the car and reverse it into the spot and it didn't engage instead I just heard a thump and then the check engine light turned on and I had the P, R, N, D, S flashing so everytime I would try to engage drive or reverse it felt like it was I'm neutral, I took the car to get looked at by a VW, porshe, Mercedes specialist and he said it was the mechatronic unit so I got that changed, it seemed like that had fixed the problem then it started to do the same thing, everytime after a long drive when I go to reverse it doesn't engage and does the same thing makes every gear feel like it's in neutral so I have to turn the car off then on and it works and engages reverse with no problem, got engine code P2711 which said unexpected / implausible mechanical gear disengagement

I own a 2010 Volkswagen Cc with a dsg transmission. While the vehicle is in park, it shifts independently from drive to neutral. It has happened several times, including while driving on the highway. The dealer failed to diagnose the problem and simply recommended I replace the transmission. At a cost of $5400. I escalated the issue with VW of America and they were no help. They agreed that they are unable to diagnose the case and that only remedy is a new transmission.. I think this is a VW dsg transmission coverup, just like tdi emmissions car has approximately 84,000 miles

The contact owns a 2010 Volkswagen Cc. While driving 45 mph, the engine warning light illuminated and a knocking noise was heard under the hood. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and was able to resume driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission fluid was low. In addition, when the gear shifter was in park, it shifted into reverse. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 79,000.

Battery died and since then my parking brake has malfunctioned, stalling while driving, and car seemed to not be changing gears, left me stranded. I didn't even see this oming because I had. O signs of trouble, started up and ran well until hot then would stall out, would start up, then seemed like it was switching gears on its own. This would happened while driving on city streets, at stop lights and even at 65 mph on freeway.
