Quite disappointed that Volkswagen doesn't see a failed clock spring as a safety issue. When I asked the service technician what problem this might cause, he stated sudden death, since the airbags will not deploy. When I asked how this theory could be tested, he recommended against it. Volkswagen engineers need to own up to their vacant designs and make things that work, instead of hiding behind their lawyer's skirts...
