I think the fix is in the Clock Spring mechanism inside of the steering wheel. Center of display on dash doesn't work. My biggest concern is that the steering column air bag will not deploy in an accident and the car's horn doesn't work. My daughter drives this car to school and work. I was told that there is a special error code for this malfunction that has occurred in other VW's and is a common complaint from what I am told. Before I spend the estimated $400-600 dollars to fix this by the dealer, I want to make sure that this is not part of the airbag recall; and covered under a product recall. Dealer told us it is not covered.
