Sunroof drain clogged; water leaking into wheel well. VW has a recall on this problem but only for the FRONT sunroof drains - so the fact that it is the back drains that are leaking (and how do they know which is the culprit, really?) means it is NOT covered, even though many complaints are apparent. The leak creates not just moldy conditions in the wheel well, but because it wasn't obvious for some time, it soaked through everything in the trunk. I doubt the mold will ever go away, given that they aren't replacing anything, and who knows what electrical systems might be damaged from sitting in water. There apparently was a class action suit brewing, but probably was settled out of court.

This is the third time I have had the car in for a leaky sunroof and water stained headliner to be replaced. They say it should be ready one day short of having it for seven weeks this time.
