When I took my car to the mechanic, he said they keep the seat belt in stock. To me, this means it is a reoccuring issue. I contacted VW and spoke to a rep. They said if I turned off the light, it could cause my airbag not to function. Since this is a known issue, it should be fixed through a recall. I asked if I have an accident would the airbags inflate. I was told they may not. VW would be responsible. I have not had the issue fixed yet. Please issue a recall before anyone is injured due to this problem.
