fuel pump failed and put metal throughout the fuel system

Was originally told by VW dealer it was caused by bad fuel. Insurance company is stating fuel was fine and not contaminated. The power train on the vehicle cover this up to 60,000 miles. We are at 69,000 miles and there for the warranty will not cover the Fuel system to be replaced on this vehicle that has been recalled for the emissions.

State Farm states VW has a technical service builtin #2036656 which covers the 2014 Jetta High pressure fuel pumps but refuses to send a copy to me. I do know the 2012 and earlier fuel pumps were covered up to 120,000 miles.

Due to the emissions settlement VW is not offering any good faith negotiations in resolving this cost. This vehicle is leased and must be in operating condition to be turned back in. Uhg.....Very frustrating Have filed a complaint with the Insurance commissioner regarding the time involved and handling of the fuel sample with no chain of evidence not even sure if they tested the fuel from our car. Very State Farm has been very unprofessional and has dragged there decision to repair the car for a month. Then came back with they will not cover the claim due to the fuel was fine. Oddly lab report has no mention of metal contaminants in fuel. While there was visible metal contaminants in the bottle. Makes one wonder.
