AC / heater problem
I was told in 2013 when I purchased my 2006 Volkswagen Passat that the AC had just recently been repaired/replaced. The car had 55000 miles on it at the time. Well, it made it thru one summer and it started to work only part of the time. At around 88,000 miles, the A/C started working only when it was raining. I know, no explanation. Now, it does not work at all. Mechanic says the points in the compressor are bad. Of course, its too expensive for me to fix. Now I just have a sweaty shirt when going in to work during the summer months.

Broke right after we moved to FL, such fun! This car is nothing but trouble, first tried to refill the freon but still nothing, that's when we knew.

THIS CAR SUCKS!!! At just 50,000 miles, my a/c system took a dump....in South Florida, in the middle of Summer. Black leather didn't feel too great in the heat. Spent $1900 to replace it. Now, just six months later, my fuel system took a crap too. This is ridiculous.

VW sucks!!! This car has been plagued with issues (ie. electronic ignition, air compressor, cv joint, electronic issues, and now turbo issues) that are clearly documented by other owners and vw has done nothing to stand behind their product. THIS CAR HAS JUST TURNED 50,000 MILES!!! Never have I seen any car with these many issues. I'll never buy another vw - ever!!

I have spent close to $2,500.00 in 12 months for non maintenance items.
First the fuel pump, trunk latch, crankcase breather valve & hose, and now the a/c compressor. The compressor alone cost $1,200 at a local mechanic.
I had a Toyota Tundra for 5 years before this car and I never had this much in costs.

a/c compressor only worked when the temperature was below 70 degrees. I lived in Las Vegas where the temperature was consistently well over 100 degrees. Went to my local VW dealer they had quoted me 2400$ to replace the whole AC system. Not wanting to shell out the money we bought a compressor from AutoZone for 600$ and did the repairs ourselves. This did rectify the problem but it was a major nuisance to do the replacement (6 hours), and far more costly than your average car.
