tail light goes out on occasion
I have had a 2006 VW Jetta and now my 2012 VW Passat and they both did this to me.
So every now and then the "you have a light burnt out" light will appear on my dash. It has happened 2 times on each car. The back right tail light appears to be out. Usually i can just give a light knock on the light housing and it turns back on. If you have the problem continuously the actual problem is a partially loose wiring connection. Not sure if anyone else has the issue but i simply just made sure all the wires were snug and pushed them together a little harder and it hasn't happened since. Just letting you guys know

Constantly getting the light out indicator. The bulb receptacles are junk. I cleaned them with detox and other contact cleaner used in aviation and no help. I never seen such garbage in all my life! Shame on you Volkswagen. You gave German engineering a bad name!
