Since April the horn quit working too and airbag. Got car into dealership in May 23, 2022 for clock spring recall and they unfortunately that did not fix it, "due to Clock Spring back order". Dealership told me that they're unable to fix it. Have called several times and they keep telling me the same.

This is the second time the clock spring has broken. VW will not cover the repair. Says there's a year warrant on the part (replaced 8/2/16). I find this a pain in the ass because; it's a safety issue, 2nd break on a 2013 car, out of pocket repair.

I was backing the car out of my driveway when I heard something rattling around in the steering wheel and then I heard a "snap" or "pop" and then an air bag error alert was displayed on the information panel, the air bag light illuminated, and I lost the electronic controls on my steering wheel. The car is currently at the dealership and the quote to repair the issue is around $550. Unfortunately for me, my VIN is not included in the recall notice 15V483000, so I am calling VW to complain and hopefully they can do something to help with the cost of repairs since there are 2010-2014 Passat sedans that are affected by the recall, just not mine. When I told my dad what car I bought he jokingly said I should have bought two; one to drive everyday and then one to drive when the other is in the shop. I hate to tell my dad the he was right, but it sounds like he was right. I like my Passat, but I am quickly on the path to becoming a former, one time only VW owner.
