Takata recall: Daughter drive car to college. Received recall 1yr ago from 12-12-16 still no air bags available at dealer. How long do we have to wait to fix this car. Does someone have to die in my car first?

Takata recall. As reported by takata, in the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, which may result in serious injury or death to vehicle occupants. There hasn't been any remedy or repair to this and there hasn't been any compensation or replacement of the vehicle which is only fair to ask. I am worried that something might happen and it would be too late to do anything about it. As a company manufacturing it, VW should provide us the sense of safety and protection. Also I live in ca, which is state that falls in zone a states with high temperature cycling and humidity and falls into a more risky group. So I need to feel secure in some way and VW is responsible for it.
Takata recall: My dealership, Volkswagen bridgewater NJ, has not had the parts to repair the recall nor have they remedied it either. I have called multiple times expressing my concern driving the vehicle and they have not made the situation right. I am unsure how to proceed.

I am having airbag light on of my dashboard. I am always having the suspect about airbag will work or not if required. I contact VW services center that they can't help. VW recall website says it is not available from last February 2016. Do I still use the car or not? I have only 1 car for the basic commute to work. I followed up multiple times with VW. But there is no movement to address this problem.
