While driving on the interstate, exiting onto an off-ramp, the engine quietly just stopped. The first thing I noticed was the a/c went warm, steering was stiff and the brakes were harder to operate. (my wife said that had been happening to her randomly) Looking at the gauges it was as if I had put the key in ACC but had not started the van. So I bumped the shift to "N" and started the car while still rolling, it started fine and we continued on our way. Now I hear the complaints more often and would really like to see if anyone else has had the same problem. The VW Routan is a Chrysler/Dodge minivan thru and thru so anyone looking for info could research those brands as well. I heard about the EGR being a problem, but this year v6 doesn't have one! Any help would be appreciated.

I was driving and the car just cut off when the car was moving, steering wheel locks up and would have to coast to a stop in traffic, that's dangerous. Just before the car cuts off a chime would ring, that's how I know it's about to cut off. Sometimes it would start immediately, sometimes it would take a few minutes to start. Now the car starts, but it keeps cutting off. Now the car won't start at all.

I took the car in for service a large number of times, let's say 7, for different issues like stalling while driving, long cold crank, check engine on, etc. They now tell me they need 1,200 for the TIPM Totally Integrated Power Module - for which Chrysler has out a recall. This car is based on the 2011 Chrysler Town and Country but there is no recall on the VW Routan. The dealership investigated the issues all 7 times and came back with different fixes - crank position sensor, fuel pump, etc... By the search I did, all of those were due to the TIPM. Now they are asking for 1,200 out of warranty of course. This part should be covered by a VW recall as well. Waiting for VW of America to contact myself and the dealership to sort this out.

I own a family car.... I'm a mom of 3 girls 1,3 and 6 years old, is very stressful driving this car these days, I know I'm in danger every time I drive the car and I'm a danger for others. Yesterday I was driving the van and died out in the middle of the freeway, thank god I can move over 3 rows. I turned on and it starts again but I can feel the car is not good.

I took it before to the agency because when I start it sometimes doesn't want to start at first and they told me they couldn't fix it because it doesn't show something in the computer... then starts dieing out when I'm driving it.... I rent a car and I pay 500 dollars for one week.... because it's dangerous driving... I took it to the agency for the second time and they replace the receiver (I don't know what is this) and I starting to think maybe they don't do anything on my car due to I left my car at nine am, and they call me at 3 pm telling me that was ready on Monday when is very busy and they have the time for wash my car also.... I remember my husband told me that the agency told him that cannot fix in one day because they have to take out the front.....

After all that keeps doing the same, died out upon start, died out while driving, gas consumption have increased due to feels roughly, it feels hard when I press the brakes. Do I have to have an accident and die or kill somebody else because of this.... I'm desperate for any solution.
