My 2004 C70 has engine light comes on after a few miles and then throws Transmission into limp mode. I've had it to 3 different transmission techs including one Volvo tech and they all say it needs a new transmission which is bull crap. the transmission works great until the engine light comes on then the limp mode. I have replaced the TCM, engine coolant sensor and S-4 shift solenoid. None of which have helped

Update from Mar 14, 2016: Since initial complaint I have done a complete transmission fluid change. It seemed to help at first but eventually went back to limp mode. The only thing left that I was told might be the throttle Position Sensor whic I intend to replace. After that I guess it's another transmission. May I vent at this point, the "limp mode is suppose to protect the transmission but the limp mode is the problem. Modern technology SUCKS. My transmission would work fine if it didn't have the limp mode feature.

Update from Mar 23, 2016: i can drive the car in 4th and it will do fine. It will still go to limp mode at low speeds going up hill. In drive it still will go into limp mode after just a few miles. After it goes into high gear and then lock up it will "shutter" a little, check engine light comes on and then limp mode. I drive the car in 4th gear and it very seldom goes injto limp mode. I keep my OBD scan tool in the car so when it goes to limp mode I just clear PO740 code and I'm good until the next time. There has got to be a simpler fix than replacing the transmission. If I new how I would disconnect the limp mode function. What good is it when the techs are going to say I need a new transmission any way.
