This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Car was surging while driving. Electronic throttle module (ETM) was cleaned at cost of $88. Problem continued until car lost power at 65 mph on the freeway. I was unable to accelerate or decelerate. Had to shift from drive to neutral in order to slow down until I was able to safely pull off the road. Problem did not reoccur after restart of engine for about one week, when it happened repeatedly thereafter. Finally replace ETM at cost of $1,100.
