1. reference - ODI id number : 10348993 the car stalled again on the highway and I was able to manage to pull over safely. 2. this time it was diagnosed with the fuel pressure sensor. The dealer and Volvo customer care rep stated that the recall is not applicable to the car because the last 6-digit VIN [xxx] is out of range of 335112 to 372809. The Volvo customer care rep also stated there is no guarantee if the problem will not happen again within the 12 month part warranty after it's fixed. I feel very unsafe driving the car now, not knowing when the problem occurs again and could cause a fatal crash. 3. dealer replaces fuel pressure regulator.

The contact owns a 2004 Volvo S60. While driving 5 mph, making a right, the vehicle stalled without warning. The failure occurred 5 times. The dealer was contacted and stated that the engine was out of code with high mileage. The VIN was not a part of NHTSA recall campaign id number, 07V226000, engine and engine cooling. The diagnostic test confirmed that the ECM 2600 failed and it was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 67000.

In July of 2009 during the Washington state heat wave, where temperatures reached 104, my 2004 Volvo S60R experienced a engine shutdown on the freeway that was described in a recall (07V226000) for my model and year. My vehicles VIN was not part of the vehicles that were part of the recall however I think you should expand the range since my vehicle also had the fuel pressure sensor replaced to solve the issue. I still have the part if you want to examine it. I have read the consequences part of the recall (07V226000) and that is exactly what I experienced.

2004 Volvo S60 regularly serviced by Volvo. Bought new, well maintained, exc cond, & oil changed ever 3000 miles. Only 68K miles presently but many problems since bought new. #1) replacing burned out rear/front headlight bulbs constantly. #2) check engine light came on before 40K miles. Wasn't too concerned at first because only issue I seemed to have was hesitation somewhat when accelerating after being parked. Until one day veh wouldn't accelerate beyond a roll after being stopped for red light. A few days later driving approx 50 mph uphill car stopped accelerating and stalled. Both times I was able to roll to side of road, restart & make it home. Scared me enough though to take to Volvo next day. Fuel sensor gauge needed to be replaced. When I checked if covered under recall - found my car wasn't based on VIN, another fairly costly repair. #3 - ac fan wouldn't go off one day - fan running full blast & control switch wouldn't regulate or work. Fan continued to run even when I turned off ignition. Dead battery next morning needed jump start. Ac fan modular bad - modular repair done & then fan somehow burned out due to new modular when mechanic testing repair - now fan needed to be replaced. Very costly repair once again. #3 - check engine light came on. After months to several mechanics, checking oil, etc. Told light probably just faulty. Then check oil light blinks - car had less than 1/2 qt oil & I had major engine damage. Had complete engine rebuilt & very expensive. Engine running great. Now 2 mos later & I hear a metal to metal noise/sound when making turns - preferably right hand - & coming from rght front side of car. Mechanic can't see safety issues when up on rack. Has no clue. Noise annoying and concerning. It sounds like wheel is going to fall off car. I am sure it will cost another fortune. However once repaired - trading in. I loved my car...however no longer feel veh is safe or depen.

Displays "check engine" most of the time and downloads to a fuel pressure sensor. Auto hesitates periodically and has on 4 separate occasions stalled completely. 07V226000 has a recall for this exact problem but Volvo says my VIN not affected. Seems from seeing other complaints with same problem that Volvo underestimated their problem.

The contact's spouse owns a 2004 Volvo S60. On approximately twenty occasions, the vehicle would completely shut off and need to be restarted intermittently. The failure occurred while braking or turning the vehicle. The dealer was able to duplicate the failure, but could not get an error code from the diagnostic machine. Recall number 07V226000 is regarding the same issue; however, the VIN is not included. The current mileage was 92,000 and failure mileage was 91,000.

2004 Volvo S60 2.5T. Purchased the car used in Sept 07. 6-5-08 panel displayed open rear door while driving 65mph on highway, my door was not opened. Car jerked as if there was power loss, ac went off, brake failure light on panel, power windows and locks did not work, temp 105, then driver panel went black. Car jerked 3 times in mid traffic, I was scared to death for my life. Arrived at my exit, pulled over to a gas station, engine still running but sluggish, radio was still on, power door locks and windows did not work, ac off. Engine still running so I made it a couple of miles up the street to my home. Cut the car off and back on, all power returned, now check engine and air bag trouble on panel. Went to Volvo dealer next day 6-6-08 near my home, they can not see my car til next week Tuesday. Went to pepboys, battery and alternator are ok, can not access engine box, must go to dealer. Called Volvo for Tuesday 6-10-08 appointment. Car duplicated same problem Monday 6-9-08 on drive home from work on the highway temp 105 etc. Searched for complaints and recalls, my recalls were reported completed when I purchased the car, found all of this valuable info online, will see dealer tomorrow and take these related copies of complaints with me.
