So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
My 2005 Volvo xc-90 does not automatically lock any of the vehicle doors when the car is put in drive and starts moving. This is a serious safety defect that I complained about to Volvo, Ford and NHTSA in 2005. Ford Motor Company and Volvo advertise the xc-90 as the safest vehicle on the road. Ford and Volvo have other cars before and after the xc-90's introduction that automatically locks the doors when the vehicle is put in drive and starts moving. Ford Motor Company has had automatic door locks on many of their other vehicles for years so they trained us to expect it, and then they leave this feature off! I believe this design flaw has been in existence since the xc-90 was first introduction into the United States in 2004. This is unconscionable!!!
