The contact owns a 2005 Volvo XC90. While driving approximately 70 mph the front passenger's side door abnormally opened. The contact maneuvered to the side of the road with caution and closed the door securely however, the failure recurred once the vehicle was in motion. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the door cable was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the defect and they were unable to provide assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000. The consumer stated the dealer found a broken cable. The cable was replaced at a cost of $ $135.93. Updated 03/01/12
