Ford Recalls 141,000 F-150, F-250 and F-350 Trucks
Ford recalls trucks to fix problems with the rear inflatable seat belt buckles.

— Ford is recalling about 141,000 trucks because of problems with rear inflatable seat belt buckles.

The 2015-2017 Ford F-150 Crew Cab, 2017 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty Crew Cab trucks may have inadequate thickness of the rivet heads of the seat belt assemblies.

Because the rivet heads aren't strong enough, the left rear inflatable seat belt buckles can separate from the mounting brackets in a crash. A passenger won't be protected in a crash, but Ford says it's unaware of any problems so far.

The 2015-2017 Ford F-150 was built in Michigan and Kansas City between July 20, 2015, and June 16, 2017, and the 2017 Ford Super Duty was built in Kentucky from October 20, 2015, to June 16, 2017.

About 117,423 of the trucks are in the U.S., 15,715 are in Canada and 8,202 in Mexico.

Ford didn't say when the truck recall will begin, but dealers will replace the seat belt buckle assemblies if the rivets are not adequate.

If you own a 2015-2017 Ford F-150 Crew Cab, 2017 F-250 or F-350 Super Duty Crew Cab truck and have questions, call Ford at 866-436-7332 and ask about recall number 17C12.
