This is a problem, sometimes it doesn't want to shift into gear, I am afraid that something severely is wrong with the transmission.
The problem, when I get down to 10-20 miles (1st shift) it feels like someone is rear-ending my car, and when I start out, it also feels this way. I have regular oil changes completed and the transmission fluid stays the same.

This is the Autostick transmission. This transmission does not shift properly about 75% of the time. When you are slowing down to a stop from any speed over 20 mph, when you get down to about 10 mph it feels like you get rear ended as the transmission downshifts into first when the RPMs are still too high. Sometimes when you are at a stop and the light turns green, you step on the gas, the RPMs go up, but you go nowhere until the transmission clunks into gear. I've taken it to a couple dealers at least five times (starting back at about 20k on the car) and they all tell me there is nothing wrong with the transmission and that this is "normal". I've owned and driven alot of other cars with auto transmissions and this is nowhere close to being "normal". If it is, the engineers need to be cracked upside the head. When we have other passengers in the car, they often ask why we do a quick stomp on the brakes while we are stopping...
The funny thing is, it's so rare that the car shifts properly that when it actually does, we always notice it and will comment about it.
This is the first and last Chrysler/Dodge I will ever own. I bought it against my better judgement because its what my wife wanted at the time. Now we both hate it.

I have 53000 miles on my Sebring. Out of the blue it started doing a HUGE buck whenever it comes to a stop. I brought it into be fixed and they are not sure what the problem is yet. It has been in the shop for over a week. They think the transmission case has a crack in it? I love my car otherwise but with this huge mechanical failure I would definately hesitate before purchasing any other american made vehicle. I am lucky to have bought the extended warranty which hopefully should cover this transmission issue if they can ever figure out how to fix it.
