2013 Dodge Durango. Consumer writes in regards to brakes and dashboard light issues. The consumer returned to the dealer six months after purchasing the vehicle, because the lights on the dashboard illuminated periodically. The dealer purged the system according to the service invoice and the faulty lights did not illuminate again. Then, intermittently the consumer noticed the vehicle felt as though it was going to accelerate or even drop down in gear. The consumer received recall notice 14V154000 (service brakes and service brake hydraulic). However, she was informed the parts were not available. The consumer then called other dealers within a 100 mile radius and found a dealer who ordered the part on 06/17/2014 and installed it on 07/02/14. In October 2014, while driving the vehicle felt as though it was going down in gear on its own. Two months later, the consumer received recall notice 14V634000 regarding the alternator. However, the parts were not available. While the consumer was waiting on the parts, she continued to drive the vehicle, until one day while driving on the interstate, the vehicle just stopped.

This happened while driving to work at about 0745 going North on I35 from temple tx to waco. A 18 wheeler cut me off while I was in the right lane. He passed me then very quickly changed lanes. I stomped on the brakes and nothing happened then I lifted my feet and stepped on the brakes again and nothing happened.then on the third stomp they finally worked. At that time I heard a rushing of air.I hit the brakes again but there was no air noise. The brakes worked fine after that but I didn't get back on the interstate. I drove very carefully the rest of the day. But I have had other times that when I hit the brakes the brake pedal pushed back on my foot. That has happened several times.

My Chrysler dealer has failed to replace Chrysler's recalled brake booster and shield within a reasonable amount of time. I took my 2013 Dodge Durango to the premier chryslerjeep Dodge Ram of tracy, California back in June 2014; they tested the car and said they would contact me when the replacement brake booster and shield were in stock. I've called twice since then and was told that parts are still not in stock. I feel this is an unreasonable wait for a recall that poses a threat to the safety of me and my family.

Purchased vehicle in Nov 2013. Received recall for brake booster in May 2014 (P14/NHTSA 14V-154). Called and scheduled an appointment. Dealership said that they would call when the part was received. No call to date. Received second recall notice via mail on 12/26/14. Called dealership and they stated that the parts were not coming in very quickly. Recommended I file this complaint with the NHTSA. Also stated that they were doing the second recall for sun visor wiring, received in Aug 2014, in conjunction with the brake booster, when/if the parts arrive. (P36/NHTSA 14V-391). This report is filed to comply with the directions of the recall that state "if your dealer fails or is unable to remedy the defect without charge and within a reasonable time, you may submit a written complaint to the administrator".

P14 recall on brake booster. Received 2nd notice today and have been to the dealership 3 times all 3 times I was told that they will not look at the recalled part as they don't have the parts in stock to replace. I called Chrysler recall group and they can't guarantee the parts to be available, only to call other dealerships to see what can be done. On top of this I now have a alternator recall that I am on a "wait list" like I have been since June for the brake booster.
