CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Edge has its fair share of problems, but chief among them is an annoying “door ajar” warning light that won’t shut off even when the door is most definitely closed. While the retina-burning, ever-present false reminder on your dashboard is bad, it points to a deeper problem that can drain the battery, leave the doors unlocked while in motion, or render the key fob useless.

My door is closed but the door ajar warning stays on. Keeps dinging with that annoying sound that will not stop no matter how many times or how HARD I slam the stupid door. My dome light will not turn off and my door locks will not lock while I am driving. I had this problem once while under warranty but now it is back again when I am out of warranty. I just want the signal to be disconnected since they obviously do not have a permanent fix for it.

Because the door ajar light began to stay on only intermittently at first, we had to repeatedly open and slam the door multiple times to get it to shut off. This caused the door panel to become loose.
