The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal fuel odor detected. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed with a cracked fuel tank. The fuel tank was replaced. Prior to the failure, the canister purge valve was replaced twice. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 71,974.
