CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Edge has its fair share of problems, but chief among them is an annoying “door ajar” warning light that won’t shut off even when the door is most definitely closed. While the retina-burning, ever-present false reminder on your dashboard is bad, it points to a deeper problem that can drain the battery, leave the doors unlocked while in motion, or render the key fob useless.

I bought this car from CarMax used and took it back several times to them to fix the shift to park issue. Well of course they couldn't find anything wrong. I wrote to FORD and never even received a reply. It's obvious this should be a recall but of course their cheap ass gets out of it because it's not a safety recall. This used to happen a couple of times a week, now its every single time I drive the car. This is BS that FORD doesn't stand by anything they make! Now the POS is blowing hot air on the driver side and cold on the passenger. I give up on FORD! Ford Owners Repair Delay is what I've always said.

Edge Limited 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

Sometimes when I park my car and shift to park, the warning light will come on stating "Shift To Park" even though the gear is in Park. I push the gear forward and it seemed to be okay up until a few months ago when that no longer works. Now, I have to push the gear forward with force and sometimes I have to play around with it back and forth before the warning light will shut off.
