CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Edge has its fair share of problems, but chief among them is an annoying “door ajar” warning light that won’t shut off even when the door is most definitely closed. While the retina-burning, ever-present false reminder on your dashboard is bad, it points to a deeper problem that can drain the battery, leave the doors unlocked while in motion, or render the key fob useless.

So, my wipers will stay on with the wiper switch in the off position. It's really annoying. I checked and my car does not have a sensor that would make them stay on. Any time I have to turn them on, I know they may not shut off and sometimes will take a bit to turn off. I should have mentioned it when I took it in for the door light issue, but it slipped my mind.

First it was the door ajar light that wouldn't turn off and it cost me $300+ to get it fixed. Now the windshield wipers wont shut off and it's quite annoying... not sure how much this little issue is going to cost me. I think Ford is purposely adding these little annoying issues just to make more money ... and it's working. After looking at all the reviews online regarding these issues, it should be a recall but yet its nothing more than a ripoff.

Intermittent wipers continue to operate after the switch is turned OFF. This occurs during damp weather but not in dry weather.

went to car wash, wipers came on and could not shut off. they just went on intermittently. found out on youtube that it was the wiper switch. going to get one this weekend, 2 days away hope it rains, it seems very common. I'm skipping dealer on this, just a bunch of screws and pop out and pop in

Youtube videos claim that the problem is common. Owning vehicles for the last 35 years, first time seeing this problem. First Ford I owned. SUCKS.

The windshield wipers will not turn off. They stay on delay which is very annoying, especially on sunny days. It is wearing on my windshield wiper blades

Another well documented problem with a poorly designed electrical component. This should be recalled and a decent switch replacement installed.

I cannot turn on my windshield wipers because they will never turn off. Well, they will after about a week and many many different combinations of techniques to turn them off (turn the wipers on full power and then turn the car immediately off; spritz the windshield with washer fluid, while the wipers are off; dance in the moonlight naked)

For now, when it rains or snows and I need to use the wiper, I just use the "mist" feature and hold it down.

It will cost over $300 to repair
