The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-250. While driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was able to restart on some occasions. The failure recurred numerous times. In addition, the vehicle was accelerating independently. When the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to West hills Ford (1100 oyster bay ave S, bremerton, wa 98312) where it was diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 52,500.

Fikm, injectors, glo plugs, ipr, harmonic balancer, prv low oil pump, high oil pump, fuel filters all replaced between 277,000 and 290,000 miles ( 1st time on injectors and glo plugs at 277,000 miles on a 6.0L 2006 Super Duty diesel)due to lack of power during acceleration between 65 and 75 mph more than once! spent more than $3,000 to date to correct this issue and nothing has worked! Ford has some explaining to do, and it has baffled even one or more of their best mechanics, as well as the tow truck person that had to tow it at 10:00 pm this past week! now who is responsible"???" we have owned this truck from new status to present and yes 290,000 miles on a 6.0L diesel 2006..surprise! the vehicle was in motion when this issue happened.... on both city streets and interstates, and in the driveway with emer. Brake on and acceleration up to 2000 RPM's and it chugs and spits and sputters and then dies and won't restart until the next day! I can provide you several receipts, but I am not putting them online for all to view VIN numbers, etc. Any information will be greatly appreciated! all this trouble has gone on since April of 2016 to present. My truck is a work vehicle and has been a good one until now and has travelled well for 10 years old and 290,000 miles. I am currently stuck in Georgia trying to fix this issue.

F-250 8-cyl Diesel

  • 110,601 miles
As I pulled away from a stop sign I throttled up to reach the appropriate speed limit and my 2006 Ford F250 6.0 went wide open throttle out of nowhere. I mashed on my brakes to try to slow the truck down, to no success. I flashed my lights and strobe lights at on coming traffic as well as blew the horn to make other drivers aware that I could not stop. Luck being against me this day the first vehicle I approached was a nc state trooper. I had to turn off my ignition to stop the truck but the engine kept running at 4500 RPM so I slammed it in park. The state trooper gave me a ticket for passing him at 80mph in a 45. Keep in mind that my truck is equipped with an sct livewire tuner, so when it opened up it launched like a rocket. This is the second time I've had the throttle issue, the first time was the same case except I did not had a tune on the vehicle. There has been several reported cases of this happening, with and without tuners on the vehicle. Please share your insight if any one knows the cause of this issue.

On 3 separate occasions when brakes were applied the vehicle actually sped-up and was only brought to a stop through heavy pressure to the brake pedal.

Ford 250 swb 4X4 2006, when crossing bridges, hitting bumps in the road or hitting pot holes, the trucks front end will go into a violent shimmy and shake episode, the only way to correct it is to slow down - this can be very dangerous on interstate or high speed roadways. Front end alignments, tire balancing, new tires and steering stabilizers have been installed.nothing stops this front of from violently shaking. Ford dealerships have been no help. This is a very dangerous problem in which Ford probably needs to re-engineer the front end. Please help put some pressure on Ford to make a recall on these front ends.

: the contact stated the vehicle's speedometer sticks at 80 mph. The vehicle was taken to the dealership where the speedometer was repaired. While on the way home it failed again. The vehicle was taken back to the dealership. The dealership determined they could not duplicate the problem. The air bag light was inoperative. Updated 03/28/06
