I like to save money by changing my own oil. Its bad enough that there is a bar blocking direct access to the oil filter, but the oil pan plug is made from such a poor metal that my cheap socket wrench somehow stripped the outside bolt (even with the correct size). I now have to use a vice wrench on it. To make matters worse, its a CUSTOM piece not sold on the racks in Kragen's or AutoZone. Why would Ford make a custom oil pan plug? And if it is custom, why is it so cheap. Are they really trying to take every dime off of those of us who were suckered into buying the car?
