problem #1

(reported on)

Focus LX 2.0L V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 89,630 miles

While proceeding across an intersection I slowly drove over a raised plate like always, when suddenly I hear a big pop and my air bags deployed. The impact from the passenger side air bag caused the windshield to break making the car undriveable. Thankfully, I was able to walk away but was lucky that it happen on a street that was not busy at the time because it could have caused a real accident. Ford is denying any responsibility, by stating that after three years the air bags are not under warranty. Even the New York City Police said that it had to be a MANUFACTURE DEFECT. THIS IS SUCH AN INCONVEINCE BECAUSE I HAVE TWO KIDS, WORK IN THE CITY AND HAVE TO COMMUTE WITH BOTH OF MY CHILDREN EARLY IN THE MORNING. AS OF THIS DAY, I AM WAITING ON MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO LET ME KNOW WHAT IS GONG TO HAPPEN NEXT. IF THE VEHICLE WILL BE FIXED OR IF THEY ARE GOING TO CONSIDER THE VEHICLE TOTALED. MIND YOU, THE ONLY DAMAGE THAT THE VEHICLE HAS IS THE BROKEN WINDSHIELD AND THE AIRBAGS OUT. I HOPE THAT SOMETHING WILL BE RESOLVED SOON.
