There was a previous post where a lady's Focus would not shift out of 1st gear.
This car has been great and had minimal issues (nothing over $300) over the last 4 years. Yesterday, as I left the bank, it would not shift out of first gear. The stick moves freely (more freely than usual in fact) back and forth but absolutely will not shift side to side. It will not go in neutral or shift into second.
I pulled the center console out and looked at the shifter to see if it's anything obvious. The only thing I noticed was the shift select cable (the black one) was frozen.
I am hoping that it's only the cable ($135.0 from Ford) and not a problem with the transmission itself.
