I am so annoyed with this problem. I turned the car off and now I cannot remove the key from the ignition. Even if you live in the best neighborhood you wouldn't want to leave the key in the ignition. I went online to see if there is a solution because the dealer I got the car from had no owner's manual and is closed because today is Sunday. I went online and discovered I am not the only one with this problem. Had I known I would have chosen another vehicle I only had this car for a little over 2 weeks!!

Ford Focus 2000-2007 I just found out has this problem, key gets stuck in ignition and can not be taken out. Thanks to another site, Auto Forum, Barry found how to get the key out by sliding up the shifter sleeve, Hope it helps folks out there.

My wife came home and said that the key would not come out of the ignition. I tried and tried to remove it. It will start the car, it just won't come out. Finally I disconnected the battery and then the key came out. I then tried my key too in the car, and still had the same problem. Can anybody tell me what is the deal with this??????
