I first noticed this problem with the Low-Beam Headlights going off about 6 weeks ago when I made a right turn onto a road here and for a second hit the Bright Light switch while using the right turn signal. Suddenly the Low Beam Headlights went completely off so I used the Bright Lights to regain coverage of the road. The Low Beams have since gone out on several occasions but have always returned when the car is parked and then re-started, until I came home tonight.
I was almost home and put the left turn signal on but since the turn signal is on the same lever that the Bright Light switch is on, the Bright Lights came on for an instant and then the Low-Beams went completely out again. I then had only about a half of a block to go before pulling into the driveway. I tried to get the Low-Beam headlights to go back on but couldn't do it. I will have to drive with my Bright Lights on when driving at night until this problem can be properly addressed. I will check the #16 and #17 relays today (Low Beam Relays) to see if they are defective and contact the Ford Dealership where I bought this 2007 used Ford Focus. Hopefully this problem can be paid for through my existing Warranty.
