I bought the parts online (SKF brand) and replaced it myself. I have done this before and I don't recommend it to the casual mechanic. I used a hydraulic press to press out the old bearing and press in the new one. There were quite a few rusty parts that made the job more difficult.

Front wheel bearings are a common failure on just about all cars - I consider this a maintenance issue rather than a failure due to a defect.

This is the 3rd time this has had the problem since I have had the car, had to fight with Ford to cover it once, they claim it's not a problem, although earlier models had recalls for this problem and this was while it was still under warranty when they gave me trouble. Had to call Ford Headquarters and rant the first time for reimbursement. had other cars for over 200,000 and never had to change a bearing.
