I've had to get the wheel bearings fixed 3 times. The electrical warning lights go off and on for example the engine light comes on and then goes off for no reason and the same with the airbag light. Also the sensor for the passenger seat that senses a person or a inanimate load is incorrect sometimes. And last, when I punch my excellorator to go on the freeway, it doesn't kick into overdrive every time. More times it doesn't than does.

Front left tire blew causing to loose control of the car it went off road and slammed into a ditch. Front bumper and quarter panel damage, front axle broke, rims dented, suspension needs to be replaced to name a few. Almost $5000 in damage. Person jerked forward enough to have cuts in the chest/shoulder by the seat belt yet the airbag did not deploy.

I noticed a vibration that seemed to increase over time of about 2 weeks. I took the vehicle into the dealer where they replaced a wheel bearing and recommended I replace the rear tires due to severe cupping. The tires are Continental contacts with about 10,000 miles on them and should have lasted the next 5 years. I went to the tire shop where they told me that Ford focuses are known to have alignment problems and will destroy their tires prematurely. Researching the internet I found 47 such complaints over the years relating exactly to what I experienced. The problem is the rear suspension is cambered in too much at the top and Ford never made the suspension adjustable. Mine measured 1/4 inch difference between the top of the 15 inch rim compared to the bottom. This sits the car on the inside edge of the tire creating the premature wear. Ford must know this problem exists.

2007 Ford Focus St excessive tire wear. At 71,000 miles the vehicle is due for the fourth set of tires. Goodyear Eagle GT P205/50-16 tires have twice lasted less than 25,000 miles while the tires are warrantied for 50,000 miles. Alignment and balance are good and maintained, no 'unusual' wear patterns. Many owners of this vehicle have reported similar issues.
