Went to the dealer today and they couldn't replace the part at the time because it needed to be special ordered, but according to my receipt, it is something that is covered under warranty. I'll be back at the dealership later this week after they've received part and had a chance to install it just to verify.

I'm having the same problem too. Especially around the edges of the buttons. I wonder if this is warranty - covered?

I've had my 2008 Ford Focus SE for about 7 months. I've started noticing that the paint or black coatings on the Redundant Audio Controls on the steering wheel are starting to come off. It's coming off in very small chips, but it starting to build up and it looks really tacky when light is showing through them. I've been trying to cover it up w/ a black permanent marker, but that too looks tacky.
