CarComplaints.com Notes: Even though the first model year of a major redesign should typically be avoided, Ford did a good job & the 2008 Ford Focus doesn't appear to have any major defects.
That said, the following model years of this 2nd generation Focus (2009-2011) do appear to be slightly better.

THE first time I had my car taken into the Ford dealership for routine oil change and tire rotation I was on my way home after and decided to wash it when I noticed 6 lug nuts weren't there. I turned around and went back and raised hell with the dealership for being so incompetent that they couldn't even put the lug nuts back on my car. I was a complete ass and was so pissed. The dealership replaced the lug nuts for free but let me know that was a common problem with this car, make, and model. Since that time I have lost almost all the tops of the lug nuts to every tire. I have apologized to the dealership since but was embarrassed not to mention my car looks like crap because of it. It only took a month for the others to pop off so its pointless to replace them. It looks so red neck unmaintained and uncared for. A man's car is his baby, my baby's missing shoes.
