Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

Drivers door latch is not working from the inside. Must lower window and open from outside. This is unacceptable as it not safe in an emergency when you have to get out of the car immediately.

The drivers side door locking mechanism has broke and the door will not close. We had to use a bungee cord to driver it to the repair shop and now they are telling us, 450$ to fix it. Very scary drive with the door not engaged.

Without warning or any known cause, the driver side door lock mechanism is jammed, thus preventing me from exiting the vehicle. I have to take down the electronic window on that door, and pull the handle from the outside. This is a serious safety issue that prevents me from immediately getting out if the car in case of emergency, especially when I'm carrying my 10-year-old daughter to and from school or extracurricular activities. I have checked online, and this seems to be a common complaint for owners of the Ford Fusion SE 2007. There definitely needs to be a recall. This just happened out of the blue. Please assist. It is not fair that Ford customers should have to pay for something we did not cause. Thank you.

Interior door latch (driver's door) fails to open. I cannot get out of my car without rolling down the window and opening the door from the outside. Also door will not lock when car is locked. I have read several complaints on this NHTSA site and other forums with numerous other people who are experiencing the same problem with their Ford Fusion. Please investigate this issue and initiate a recall if warranted on the interior door latches of the Ford Fusion. This is indeed a safety concern - especially if someone must get out of the car quickly - also lock failure could be serious security problem.

The interior door latches are known to fail prematurely due to a design defect. Upon failure the door cannot be opened which can cause a hazard in an emergency situation such as a car fire or accident.

2007 Ford Fusion sel AWD; hood latch repeatedly releases, sometimes at freeway speeds and sometimes while car is parked and when returning to a locked vehicle notice the hood is "popped" and only safety latch is hooked. I am somewhat fearful that at some point the secondary latch might fail at speed and cause injury or fatality.

Ford Fusion. 2007 key won't come out of ignition. Was told it will cost $438 to fix and it is a result of a bent pen. This is not something I have done. Ford forum web page has many people with the same problem.
