The message displayed on the instrument panel to slowdown and stop immediately. The driver pulled over and called the contact. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The following day the vehicle was driven to classic Ford of madison (6251 N ridge rd, madison, oh 44057), to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. While the contact's wife was driving 25 mph, the power steering indicator illuminated and the steering seized. The vehicle was taken to victory land Ford (903 old rte 66 N, litchfield, il 62056, 217-324-3965) where it was diagnosed that the steering rack failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 99,000.
