Noticed very soon after purchasing vehicle new that left front marker lights were not working. Brought to dealership to be covered by warranty and they tried telling me (before they even looked at it) that squirrels or rodents must have gotten into the engine compartment and chewed through a wire. The service advisor noted this again to me when he called me at work to tell me what the diagnosis was and that it would not be covered under warranty. When I went to pick up the car, the technician's notes were that "an open" was found and that he repaired the problem. The service advisor then said, "Oops,sorry...I guess this is covered under warranty."
