CarComplaints.com Notes: While the 2009 CR-V still came equipped with tires that wear out faster than my Grandpa after a turkey dinner, Honda did address an electrical problem with the door locks that plagued owners of previous model years.

Every time I luck or unlock my doors, it makes a very loud grinding sound and the drivers door vibrates. I have not had the opportunity to replace it. Not sure when this will happen.

The driver door started to make a terrible, loud, buzzing noise when the lock would engage. I did some research and it was a common problem that the door actuator fails in these vehicles. And of course this is a dealer only part.

It was fairly simple to replace with moderate mechanical skills. A new door actuator was all it needed. From what I read from others with this problem is that it cost $400 to have it replaced at a dealer. It only took myself and my 3 1/2 yr old and hour to pull out some screws and put a new one in. The part was around $75.
