CarComplaints.com Notes: Yes, the Honda Civic receives a lot of complaints because so many were sold. And sure, car parts only last so long and things eventually break. But it's never good to see this many transmission complaints, especially when the average mileage at failure is just north of 100,000 miles.
Especially when you consider that it's predecessor also has a nasty history with transmission complaints.

Last week on my way to work, my just stopped driving. Come to find out the alternator was charging at 20 volts when it is only supposed to be charging at 12 volts. This caused all of the electrical units in the car to go, because everything was fried. If I have it fixed it will cost an upwards of $5000. This is not what Honda claims about their cars. They are supposed to last. I know people with other make cars that have a lot more miles than mine and they have not had to do half the things I have had to do with my car. SO frustrating!
