Right after taking delivery of this brand new 2010 MDX the battery light started coming on. Dealer could never find a cause. Then it wouldn't start and I couldn't get it jumped so had to have it towed. Still no reason but they said I had an "after market" battery. I told them it was delivered to me with that battery which thus tells me that the dealer must have had the same problem and put a new one in to bring car from KY to OH for delivery. Since that time I have repeatedly gone in for checks when battery light comes on with no cause found. They tried updating software--no resolution. I had battery replaced in Nov 2016 due to what I believe would be considered natural wear. Now, 14 months later the battery light came on after sitting 3 days and went off within a minute. 2 weeks later, car is dead as a door nail and I could not get it to jump (another issue with this car). Took battery itself to dealer who said it wasn't dead but gave me a new one. Installed it and car started right up--which tells me the old battery may not have been dead, but it couldn't start the car. Next week I plan to shop for a new car--not an Acura, as I'm sick of this issue. Should not have to do this already with 86,000 miles on a car as it still has 4 years of good local use left at least.
