Summary
TECH LINE SUMMARY ARTICLE - WEÂ’RE GETTING REPORTS OF A HIGH-PITCHED WHINE WITH THE A/C RUNNING. IT GOES AWAY WHEN THE A/C IS TURNED OFF. CHANGING THE FAN SPEED HAS NO EFFECT ON THE NOISE, AND IT SEEMS TO BE WORSE WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING BETWEEN 1,600 TO 2,100 RPM. FROM OUR INVESTIGATION, WEÂ’VE FOUND THAT THIS NOISE IS COMING FROM A RESONANCE IN THE A/C COMPRESSOR, WHICH IS GETTING TRANSMITTED INTO THE CABIN THROUGH THE REFRIGERANT LINES.
